Scripture: Pierced for our sins, Jesus also bore our sickness, and He carried our pain — Isaiah 53:4-5
Thought: Jesus carried what you could not—your past, your present, and your future suffering. From Calvary to this very moment, He still bears your grief and intercedes on your behalf.
Devotional:
Isaiah calls Jesus the “Man of Sorrows.” He did not come to walk above human pain but stepped directly into it. On the cross, He bore more than the punishment of our sins; He carried the weight of our brokenness, grief, suffering, and loss. Every tear we’ve cried, every wound we’ve endured, every burden too heavy to carry—He has taken upon Himself.
Jesus bore our sins once on Calvary, and He continues to intercede for us before the Father. The Savior who carried our sorrows is the same High Priest who understands our temptations, afflictions, and despair. Scripture speaks of our Father engraving our names on His hands (Isaiah 49:16), our tears He holds in a bottle (Psalms 56:8-9), and our prayers are held in golden bowls before the Father as eternal incense (Rev 5:8, 8:3-4). He died on a cross so that our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 3:5). Our God and Redeemer loves us personally and treasures us as His children. You are not forgotten. You are not unseen. You are not carrying life alone—Jesus, our High Priest, shoulders your burdens, cares for your brokenness, and in love, He speaks your name before the Father’s throne.
Closing Thought: “He bore the weight so you could breathe in grace.”

Journaling Prompts:
1. What sorrow or grief do I need to lay at Jesus’ feet today?
2. In what ways have I seen Christ carry me through seasons I thought would break me?
3. How does knowing Jesus intercedes for me today shape the way I pray or live?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for being the One who bore my sins and carried my grief. Remind me that I do not walk through life’s sorrows alone—You are with me, interceding for me even now. Help me to trust You with the burdens I hold tightly and to rest in the truth that You are enough. May my heart find peace in Your wounds, and my soul find hope in Your intercession. Amen.
